A 7-movement arrangement of Renaissance dances: Caccia ( Lorenzo di Firenza), Ballata (Bonaiuto Corsini), Ballata (Gherardellus di Firenza), Ballata (Andrea di Giovanni), Ballata (Anonymous), Madrigale (Vincenzo di Imola), and Canzone (Giovanni di Mazzuoli). Movements 1, 3, 4 and 7 are scored for full quintet; movement 2 for horn and bassoon, movement 5 for flute alone, and movement 6 for oboe and clarinet. The hornist must also play tambourine for a short section in movements 1 and 7. A great program piece. Approximately 16 minutes. This work has been recorded by Fiati. Both the music and recording are available through Jeanne, Inc.
