Doubles was originally composed for Oboe and Piano as an oboe-piano 'duo' in 1993. A review of a compact disc recording of the work states 'It is a dazzling virtuosic showpiece that not only impresses the listener, but is also quite enjoyable on a first hearing.' Doubles was selected as one of the top 100 pieces written in the twentieth century in Chamber Music America's 'The Century List.' This adaption of the work for soprano saxophone and piano was completed in 2008 with the assistance of Eugene Rousseau. Duration: approximately 10 minutes.
