This is volume 1 of a 3-volume collection of articulation studies by Robert Stark. Vol. 1 is at an elementary level using only half and quarter notes and a few eighths to develop a beginning articulation consistency. It is classified as elementary, yet is a very important foundation for the next volumes. Vol. 2 is intermediate with staccato eighths and triplets throughout. Vol. 3 is advanced with staccato sixteenths and sextuplets covering a wide range with frequent accidentals. These 3 volumes provide a valuable study of articulation on the clarinet.
