This unaccompanied solo has challenging technique and rhythm. It is unmetered throughout and requires both flute and alto flute. It is an effective show piece. The music opens with the presentation of the several short melodic ideas, structures. As the composition progresses, these structures become longer and more complex. By creating a musical texture consisting of isolated fragments freely floating in space the composer attempts to create a feeling of weightlessness. Duration: 8:30 minutes
