Theophile-Casimir Lalliet (1837 - 1892) studied oboe with Verroust at the
Paris Conservatoire and later taught oboe at the Academie Imperiale de
Musique. He performed in a number of orchestras in Paris and Berlin
including oboist at the Paris Opera. He composed several works for oboe
and English horn, most of them based on themes from popular operas of
the day. Terzetto for Piano, Oboe and Bassoon op. 22 is unique among his
works in that it makes no use of borrowed materials. However, it is still very
operatic in its drama and style. Duration 18.5 minutes
