The composer, Destenay, was Algerian but also spent time
in Paris. His Trio in B Minor, composed around 1906, was
dedicated to the late nineteenth century oboe teacher
at the Paris Conservatory, Bleuzet, and to the clarinet
teacher at Lamoureux, Stiewenard. This three-movement
trio is a major work for this instrumental combination.
Virtuoso technique is required of all three
instrumentalists, but especially with the pianist.
Duration: approximately 21.5 minutes. The instrumentation
is oboe, clarinet in A, and piano.
This work has been recorded by Fiati. See CD2252.
