Xin Liu

Xin Liu studied at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, graduating in 1982 with a major in trombone performance. He completed additional studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music in Russia, graduating in 1996. In 2005 he completed a degree in conducting from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Ukraine. He is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, China Wind Association, China Society of command. He has been director of the Chongqing Music Association, president of Chongqing Pipe Music, and is the permanent conductor of the Chongqing Philharmonic.

Mr. Liu’s teaching has the goal to cultivate a large number of musical talents, and to actively explore new ideas and musical arts. His compositions include works for orchestra, string ensemble, wind ensemble, and instrumental solos.
