Jancourt's Grande methode theoretique et practique, Op. 15,
was written around 1845. The Trois Petites Sonates, a
part of this complete method, are written as bassoon solos
with a second bassoon or cello as accompaniment. This
makes the duos very useful for bassoon studio teaching.
The present edition of Jancourt's Trois Petites Sonates is
based on a facsimile of the original publication. Valarie
Anderson has edited these duos, correcting obvious note
errors, misprints and inconsistencies, and adding some
articulation and occasional courtesy accidentals for ease
of performance.
