Vivaldi wrote over 500 instrumental concerti; over 200 for violin, 39 for bassoon, and many others for flute and oboe. This concerto, originally for strings and solo oboe, is one of the most popular for oboe. It has 3 movements (fast-slow-fast) and demonstrates both technical and lyrical playing.
