"Concerto a cinco" by Brazilian composer Joao Guilherme Ripper is a three-movement concerto for woodwind quintet and string orchestra. The three movements - Festive, Calm and Fast - were written in the traditional concert form, featuring an intense dialogue between the woodwind quintet, working both as a group and as five individual soloists, and the accompanying strings. In general, the music is inspired by the rich and diverse popular music from Brazil. This colorful work is a great addition to the repertoire and will be an exciting feature for the orchestra winds.
Full conductor's score and all parts are included; the string stands are 4,4,3,3,1. Extra parts are available separately. Duration 23 minutes. A smaller sized study score is also available as a separate purchase. (JP6018)
