Richards: One Step at a Time for Clarinet Choir

This work was originally composed for five clarinets and has been adapted for clarinet choir. It begins in the lowest register of the lowest instrument, climbing gradually through the first half of the piece to the upper reaches of the highest instruments. Scalar motion prevails, and stepwise relationships are imbedded within each of the themes. Challenging work for clarinet choir. Instrumentation includes E-flat cl, 3 B-flat cl, BH or AC, BC, ctr E-flat cl, ctr B-flat cl, and string bass. Score and parts included. Duration approximately 6 minutes.
