Alberto Williams (1862-1952) is considered the "father of
Argentine music'as a symphonic composer and a conductor.
A "Vidalita" is a special form of Argentine folk poem. The
song version is found in old cowboy music, like the milonga
before it evolved into the tango. It is usually slow and
reflects the sadness of the Pampa.
This new arrangement for flute and piano is by Paula
Gudmundson. The short solo will make a great contrast in
a recital or would also work as an encore. Duration
approximately 2.5 minutes.
