William Seymour Smith (1836-1905) composed "Dorothy" for
solo piano in 1886. Smith was Professor of Singing at
Goldsmith's Institute in England and a church organist.
"Dorothy" was very popular at that time and is included
in a current piano teaching method, John Thompson's
Modern Course for Piano, Grade 3.
This music has been arranged for clarinet choir by James
Mack. It is scored for E-flat soprano clarinet, B-flat
clarinets 1-3, alto clarinet, bass clarinet, and
contrabass clarinet. Alternate (optional) parts for this
clarinet choir arrangement have been included for Alto
Clarinet (Clarinet 4 or Basset Horn), and E-flat
contra-alto clarinet in place of the B-flat contrabass
