Continue ShoppingAustin Jaquith is a versatile composer whose work runs the gamut from scoring for visual media to composing instrumental and vocal works in the contemporary classical genre. His music has been featured in the films Adrift (2015) and Christmas Ranch (2016), as well as in several shorts and commercials. His concert music has been performed by ensembles such as the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Mirari Brass Quintet, the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra, and many others. No stranger to critical acclaim, his music has received awards from the Ohio Music Teachers Association (Distinguished Composer Award, 2015), the American Composers Forum (Earshot Readings Participant), the National Federation of Music Clubs (The Emil and Ruth Bayer Composition Award), Indiana University (The Dean’s Prize in Orchestral Composition), and the University of Houston (The Seraphim Prize).
Mr. Jaquith is published by Jeanne, Inc. and Triplo Press. In 2016, he was commissioned to compose a score for the Dayton Performing Arts Association signature production, Dracula, in collaboration with Karen Russo Burke (concept and choreography). Whether working on a complex chamber work, or a more viscerally-oriented film score, music is his abiding passion.
